Light Requirement: Full sun to partial shade. It flowers heaviest in full sun, but can tolerate some light shade.

Plant Spacing: Space about 3–5 ft. apart for mass plantings, informal hedges, or wildlife-friendly groupings. For individual accent shrubs, allow about 5–6 ft. of space so the plant can develop a natural rounded form.

Growth Habit: Fast-growing, semi-woody native shrub with an upright to rounded shape, soft green foliage, and clusters of tubular orange-red flowers. It may stay evergreen in warm areas but can die back after cold weather and regrow from the base.
