Plant Info: Pygmy Date Palm is a small ornamental palm native to Southeast Asia, including areas of Laos, Vietnam, and southern China. It is popular in Florida landscapes because it gives a tropical look without taking up as much space as larger palms. It works well near entryways, patios, pool cages, and landscape beds, but it should be placed where its sharp lower leaf spines will not interfere with walkways.
