Variegated Mahoe is an ornamental tropical tree or large shrub known for its heart-shaped leaves with a tri-color pattern of green, cream, and burgundy, and for its yellow flowers that turn reddish as they age. It is a fast-growing, salt-tolerant plant, often used in coastal gardens and thrives in full sun in USDA hardiness zones 9 through 11.
Variegated Mahoe is native to tropical regions, including parts of tropical Asia and the South Pacific. It is also considered a native or naturalized species in the Caribbean, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
